To all friends and supporters of Johor Bahru: International Festival City - JBIFC,
It is with great disappointment that we must inform all of you that the 2016 festivals have currently been put on hold, due to lack of funding. While we acknowledge that publicity and promotion for the JB Jazz Fest 2016 is already underway and we have received positive responses from many of you, we are unable to confirm any acts at the moment as there is currently no confirmed funding.
We would like to thank you for your support for the JB Arts Festival over the last 12 years, and for the JB: IFC project in 2015.
We urge anyone who wants to see these festivals happening, and anyone who wants to see the city of Johor Bahru achieve its full potential as a world-class city with a vibrant arts, culture, heritage, lifestyle, and entertainment scene, to please help us spread the word - to your family, friends, neighbours, colleagues, and bosses. Festivals don't run on fresh air and sunshine, and while it has run on passion and dedication for many years, we simply cannot move onto the next level without sufficient monetary support.
JB: IFC was not designed as a project of self-indulgence – it is meant for the city of Johor Bahru, and so it is our hope that the people of Johor Bahru can come together as a community to participate and play a bigger role.
We hope that we can see all of you at the next JB: IFC event.
